Childhood:- Growing up in Townsville, Corey was a bundle of energy from a young age. His mother revealed in an interview that Corey was a mischievous and lively boy, always on the run and a challenge to keep still.
Early Rugby Day at Bowen State High School:- Corey started his education at Bowen State High School, at the same time he joined his school’s rugby team, and after some time he became the school captain in 2009.
State of Origin Glory 2010:- In 2010, Corey’s talent caught the attention of selectors, earning him a spot in the Queensland Under 16 State of Origin team.
Academic pursuits at Ignatius Park College:- In 2011, he joined Ignatius College for his higher education simultaneously joining the college rugby team. His performance in college rugby league competitions paved the way for his selection in the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) rugby league.
AIS success:- On December 9, 2011, he played a crucial role in AIS’s victory over England’s community Lions and the England academy.
