He is the son of Devnad Singh, a banker and branch manager at the Uttar Bihar Gramin Bank. His mother, Poonam Devi, is a skilled homemaker.

Binod Bosak, the son of a farmer, was shocked to find out that his son Anil had topped the UPSC civil services exam in his third attempt. An IIT Delhi graduate, he cleared the exam on his third attempt. According to UPSC rules, candidates can take the exam for up to six times till the age of 32, nine times for OBCs, and unlimited chances for SC/STs.

UPSC has declared the results of the Civil Services Examination 2020. The examination was conducted between 8 January and 17 January 2020, followed by an interview on 2 August and 22 September. In order to qualify for the exam, Subham chose anthropology as an optional paper. The aspiring officer was already training for the exam in Pune when the exam was held. Nitish Kumar, the Union Personnel Minister, tweeted his congratulations to the successful candidates.

Gs1- for history he only read spectrum (modern Indian history) and he focuses on vision ias notes.his booklist was short. For polity, he depends on coaching class notes and the Laxmikant polity book. 

Csat- When he is giving his first attempt at the UPSC exam, he only solves 65 questions. He only attempts fifty questions in his second attempt. 

Mains- In his 2nd attempt, he thoroughly goes through the previous year’s question paper and he realizes that UPSC repeats so many previous year’s questions That’s why he goes through the Previous year’s question papers from 2013 to 2019.

Ethics- Again he depends on coaching class notes and he makes lots of notes on a case study and the discus with his friends about a case study of any particular matter. 

How does he prepare for current affairs?

He uses two newspapers the Hindu and Indian express newspaper for current affairs. In his starting days of preparation, he starts a few notes making from the newspaper. Mains 365 magazine from the coaching institute.

Social science is his optional subject. He read sociology in college and social science is a part of Sociology that’s why he chose this subject as his optional subject. 

anthropology– He did not read any book about this subject rather he use topper notes and vision ias notes.

When he comes to Delhi for UPSC preparation that time he face difficulties, he did not understand English that much so when he read the newspaper, he did not know the meaning of some English words, that’s why he makes a diary, and start writing the words and meaning of them after few days he uses google sheet.

Right now he is in his training period, still, he is getting his salary according to the level 10 pay matrix so his basic pay was 67,700 and if we calculate his allowances then it will be 99,669. 

He wants to work for the holistic upliftment of rural India

According to a recent interview, Shubham Kumar Ias would like to work for the rural development of India. His first choice would be to join the Bihar cadre, but he is willing to consider other cadres as well, as the UPSC has not yet allocated a cadre to qualified candidates. Shubham is a staunch supporter of the rural sector and plans to work for its development in his career as an IAS officer.

Although he did not make the cut in his first attempt, Shubham was able to top the UPSC exam at the last minute and qualified in the Indian Defence Accounts Service (IDAS). He chose anthropology as an optional subject in the mains and was ranked 290th. His ardent love for rural India spurred him to do better in school and in life.
